The School of Sotomayor?

A new Dallas elementary school could be named in honor of new Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. The Dallas Independent School District board will vote on August 27 on the proposal made by board member Ron Price. "I want my kids in my district to be able to go to a school named after somebody they actually know about," Price told the Dallas Morning News.

Price adds that kids need role models that they can actually see and not just read about. The board would have to waive policy that states if the person that is being honored is alive, they must be at least 70 years old. Prices states that he does not expect too much opposition from board members. Sotomayor is 55 and is the nations first Latino member of the Supreme court.
